GPU for Everyone: Türkiye will open compute to SMEs and startups
Per Anadolu Agency on August 31, 2026, AI compute will be opened to researchers, startups and SMEs through the GPU for Everyone program. Implemented as the National AI Research Resource Program, it will run under the 2026-2030 Türkiye AI Action Plan, coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology and carried out together with the Cybersecurity Directorate. In the first phase capacity contracts will be signed with at least 5 accredited domestic data centers, at least 2 million GPU hours a year will be allocated as credits, and at least 40 percent of that capacity will be reserved for tech startups. The annual allocation is targeted to reach at least 20 million GPU hours by the end of 2028, and the first call will open within 6 months. Credits will go to eligible startups and SMEs as packages with software, cloud and hardware support, alongside technical consultancy and mentoring. The report rests on information obtained by an Anadolu Agency correspondent rather than a published ministry announcement.
Search Console AI reports and the opt out control reach all sites
Per Google's official Search Console help documentation, as of August 31, 2026 generative AI performance data has been rolled out to all websites worldwide, completing the gradual rollout that began in June 2026. The report covers the AI Overviews and AI Mode surfaces and provides impression data only; it can be broken down by pages, countries, dates and devices, and there is no query dimension. Google also notes that some properties may not have access yet and that the report can look empty without enough impressions. On the same day the Search generative AI control in Search Console settings reached all sites. It covers generative AI features in AI Overviews, AI Mode and Google Discover, works at Search Console property level with inheritance from a parent property, and Google states it is not a ranking or inclusion signal. Sites that opt out receive neither impressions nor traffic from those features.
Instagram wants a label on AI profiles, unlabeled ones can lose reach
Per Engadget on August 31, 2026 and reporting by Social Media Today, Instagram wants profiles that feature a person generated with AI to carry its new AI generated profile label. The label replaces the optional AI creator label added in May and its scope is narrower: the old one covered any profile regularly sharing AI content, while the new one targets only profiles featuring an AI generated person. Profiles that do not add it can see reach limits, and creators who believe they were wrongly penalized will be able to appeal through the Account Status dashboard. Meta continues to allow other kinds of AI content. In Türkiye a regulatory change that took effect on August 1, 2026 already requires clear disclosure for digital characters in advertising that cannot be distinguished from humans.
