Anthropic rewrote the Fable 5 biology safeguards
Per an Anthropic announcement dated August 7, 2026, the constitution of the biology classifier behind Fable 5 was rewritten to carve out benign uses in detail, and the classifier was retrained. Biology related fallbacks fell by roughly 85 percent, while total fallbacks dropped about 67 percent on Claude.ai, 55 percent on Cowork, 17 percent on Claude Code and 7 percent on Claude Platform. Dual use areas such as virology, toxicology and molecular design remain restricted, and those queries still fall back to Opus 5.
Cloudflare moves bot management from risk to trust
Per a Cloudflare post dated August 7, 2026, bot management is moving from a risk score measured at a single moment to trust accumulated across a session. The reasoning is that suspicious behavior often happens mid session and that behavior can shift from human to agentic within one session. Its client side system Precursor processed 206 million evaluation events across 73,438 zones in 24 hours. Agents that declare their identity honestly and do not abuse that trust earn verified status.
Google Ads adds new customer reporting that does not touch bidding
Per a Search Engine Land report dated August 7, 2026, an option has started appearing in Google Ads Customer Acquisition settings that measures new customer performance without touching the bid strategy at all. It unlocks the new customers and new customer value columns. The method advertisers used before was to enable bid higher for new customers and set the extra value to a symbolic figure such as 0.01, and that workaround is no longer needed.
