Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX) opens: 40+ marketplaces in one room

Coordinated by Türkiye's Ministry of Trade together with the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) and the E-Commerce Operators Association (ETİD), the Istanbul Global E-Export Summit (IGEXX) 2026 runs September 3-5 at Haliç Congress Center. More than 40 global e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart, eBay, TikTok, SHEIN, Tmall, JD.com and Coupang, are attending.

01 · WHAT HAPPENED?

A three-day summit under the theme "Beyond Borders"

Held under the theme "Beyond Borders", IGEXX 2026 brings together global e-commerce platforms with a combined trade volume of $6.1 trillion in Istanbul, according to Anadolu Ajansı. The first day is dedicated entirely to B2B meetings, where Turkish companies hold one-on-one sessions with senior executives from global marketplaces and international buyers. On September 4-5, panels, presentations and workshops cover expansion into new markets, AI-powered e-export, autonomous shopping, big data, smart logistics, payment systems, social commerce and omnichannel retail.

02 · DETAILS

Türkiye's e-export numbers

Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Director General of Exports at the Ministry of Trade, noted that China is one of the world's strongest e-commerce markets and that exporters have notable opportunities across Asia. Türkiye's e-export volume reached $5.045 billion in 2025, with more than 11,000 companies now engaged in e-exports, and roughly 40% of that volume going to EU countries. The summit aims to grow that volume by putting Turkish SMBs directly at the table with global marketplace decision-makers.

03 · WHY IT MATTERS

The real bottleneck is access, not the product

The real bottleneck in e-export is usually not the product but access: knowing which marketplace, which category, and which logistics and payment setup to use. A summit at this scale compresses a marketplace negotiation process that normally takes months into three days, and puts AI-powered e-export tools at the center of the agenda, a sign that the pace from marketplace selection to listing optimization is accelerating.

04 · TÜRKİYE

What it means for businesses in Türkiye

For Turkish manufacturers and e-commerce businesses, the summit offers two concrete opportunities: meeting marketplace representatives directly to clarify integration terms, and learning how the AI-powered e-export and smart logistics topics discussed in the panels apply to their own operations. With 11,000 companies already e-exporting but total volume still relatively small, choosing the right marketplace and category remains the fastest path to growth.
