More than 120,000 SMEs sell to 36 countries through Trendyol, with AI doing the heavy lifting
On September 11, 2026 Trendyol Group CEO Erdem İnan shared the company's e-export figures at GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 in Istanbul: more than 120,000 domestic manufacturers and SMEs export through Trendyol, and over 200,000 products labeled "Made in Türkiye" reach customers abroad every day. Group CTO Cenk Çivici described Trendyol LLM, the Ortak agent for sellers and autonomous systems that make more than 500 million decisions a day.
Trendyol's e-export picture at GITEX Ai Türkiye
According to a written statement from Trendyol carried by Anadolu Agency on September 11, 2026, Trendyol Group CEO Erdem İnan spoke at GITEX Ai Türkiye 2026 at the Istanbul Expo Center, on a panel titled "The New Roadmap of Global Trade: AI Ecosystems, Scale and Local Adaptation". The event was hosted by the Presidency's Investment and Finance Office, with the Ministry of Industry and Technology as strategic partner. İnan's picture: the Trendyol ecosystem spans 36 countries and rests on technology and AI; more than 120,000 domestic manufacturers and SMEs export through Trendyol; every day over 200,000 products labeled "Made in Türkiye" reach users abroad. In İnan's words, via Anadolu Agency: "We see artificial intelligence as a major strategic force and lever in global markets". Ekonomim ran the same statement that day with more product detail and reported İnan saying e-commerce is no longer just a sales channel but an intelligent business partner. Note that the report relays the company's written statement, not a reporter's own observation of the panel.
Trendyol LLM, the Ortak agent and 500 million decisions a day
Trendyol Group CTO Cenk Çivici covered the technology. As reported by Ekonomim, Trendyol LLM, which the company describes as its domestic large language model, lets business partners generate product descriptions in more than 10 languages and talk to customers in other countries through instant translation. On the seller side, an AI agent called Ortak serves business partners as a digital assistant and simplifies operational processes. On the customer side, the Shopping Assistant app suggests the most suitable basket for the shopper's budget and style. Both outlets carry the same scale figure: Trendyol's autonomous systems produce more than 500 million decisions and predictions every day. Çivici also said 20 percent of the code currently written at the company is written fully autonomously. İnan also named the geography: Central and Eastern Europe, the Gulf region and Azerbaijan, an ecosystem the company says it wants to use to carry Türkiye into the top league of the digital economy. The statement gives no country-by-country availability, investment figure, developer headcount or technical details of the model.
Why it matters: the language barrier and the operations load in e-export are shrinking
The statement matters less for the size of the numbers than for which jobs AI is taking on. A small manufacturer entering e-export faces two classic obstacles: describing the product accurately in a foreign language and corresponding with customers in that language. In the setup Trendyol describes, both move to the marketplace's language model: descriptions are generated in more than 10 languages and customer conversations run through instant translation. The third obstacle is operations: orders, shipping, returns, pricing and stock. The Ortak agent is positioned there as the seller's digital assistant. On the buyer side, the Shopping Assistant builds a basket around budget and style; for the seller, that means reaching a customer through a recommendation engine, not only search. Twenty percent of code written autonomously and 500 million decisions a day suggest these tools are part of the company's production line, not a showcase feature. No average export per seller, country breakdown, investment figure or independent verification was shared; the numbers are the company's own.
What it means for businesses in Türkiye: no border issue, but access terms are unclear
No boundary question this time: the news was made in Türkiye, its audience is Turkish manufacturers and SMEs, and the target geography was named as Central and Eastern Europe, the Gulf region and Azerbaijan. Two gaps remain: the statement does not say where or for which seller groups Trendyol LLM, Ortak and the Shopping Assistant are available, and gives no access conditions or timeline. Hence the practical order. First, a business already selling on Trendyol should check in its seller panel whether e-export and multilingual description options are switched on for its own account; whether the rollout is gradual is not known. Second, the language model generates from the source text; a product with an incomplete Turkish description, inconsistent units or weak images stays incomplete in ten languages. Entering the data properly once fixes every language output. Third, in e-export the marketplace is only one channel; keeping the same product data equally accurate on the business's own site and panel pays off whichever channel grows.
The UNALSOFT view
Our reading: the marketplace's AI does not work instead of the seller, it works on the seller's data. The multilingual descriptions Trendyol LLM produces, the operations Ortak lightens and the baskets the Shopping Assistant builds all draw on the product information the seller entered. That is why the order we recommend to clients in our E-commerce panel projects is independent of any marketplace: first keep the catalog, stock and prices in a single accurate source, then feed that source to the marketplace, your own site and the agents still to come. Trendyol did not say what its 500 million daily decisions rest on; a recommendation engine clearly cannot decide well on incomplete data. A business with clean data is ready whichever channel grows.
