Meta makes video from static ad images generally available

At Advertising Week New York on October 6, 2026, Meta announced a new set of AI ad tools. Inside Advantage+ creative, advertisers and agencies can now turn the static images they already have into video, and Meta says the feature is generally available. Ads Creative Studio, introduced over the summer, is also opening to more advertisers.

01 · WHAT HAPPENED?

Going from photo to video now happens inside the ad system

Meta posted its Advertising Week New York 2026 announcement on Meta for Business on October 6, 2026, and Social Media Today covered it the same day. On the creative side, the headline item sits in Advantage+ creative, where Meta says advertisers and agencies can now "generate video from existing static assets, a feature that is now generally available." In practice, an existing product shot or banner can become a video within the ad system itself, without a separate production step.

Catalog advertisers get an additional option: Meta says the product images in a catalog can be converted into product video at scale. That feature is still in beta, though; for now Meta says eligible beta advertisers can reach it through Advantage+ creative video generation in Ads Manager and the product video creator in Commerce Manager. Once it opens up, a shop with dozens or hundreds of items could run video-format ads without filming each product individually.

02 · DETAILS

Ads Creative Studio widens and picks up editing tools

Ads Creative Studio, the creative workspace Meta introduced this summer, has started rolling out to more advertisers. Marketers can use it to produce fresh video concepts plus variations on them, then refine the results with new editing tools. As Meta describes them, those tools let marketers swap the opening hook, tune the audio and the clip length, layer on text and captions, or replace the end scene.

The announcement reaches beyond video. This fall Meta is scaling smart product recommendations, which look at an ad's image, copy and landing page to work out which product is being featured. The Meta AI business assistant in Ads Manager is gaining new features: Meta says it now has a deeper memory of the business, while importing strategy, voice and brand guidelines and scheduled tasks and alerts for recurring work are still being tested. Meta's ads MCP server is now built into the products of partners such as AdManage.ai, Birch, Blip, Databricks, Innovid, Kochava, Perplexity, Reportei, Snowflake and Triple Whale. By the end of the year, Detailed Targeting will add AI-enabled audience discovery driven by a plain-language description of the ideal customer, and Social Media Today reports that Customer Lifecycle Strategy is rolling out to all advertisers. On commerce, Meta is testing direct checkout with Shopify in Meta Business Agent on Messenger, and this fall it will start testing direct checkout in Meta AI with Adyen, PayPal, Shopify and Stripe.

03 · WHY IT MATTERS

The bar for making video drops, so ideas carry the difference

For a small business that only has product photos, a video ad used to mean either a separate shoot or a separate editing tool. Making static-to-video generally available pulls that step straight into the ad dashboard, and catalog product video, still in beta for now, could do the same for shops with large product ranges once it widens.

There is a flip side. Once everyone can run the same automated tool, simply being able to produce video stops being an advantage. Creative differentiation shifts away from production capacity and toward ideas, editing choices and brand consistency. That is where the Ads Creative Studio controls for hooks, audio, length, captions and end scenes come in: whether an auto-generated video ends up speaking in the brand's own voice depends on using those settings deliberately. We covered earlier steps of the Meta AI business assistant on August 20; this announcement adds new capabilities to it.

04 · TÜRKİYE

The sources say nothing about Türkiye, so this section is UNALSOFT commentary

Neither source mentions Türkiye, and neither says which countries or languages the features cover. What follows is therefore not drawn from the sources but is explicitly UNALSOFT commentary.

Here are the open questions, one by one. The sources do not say whether the static-to-video feature appears in ad accounts in Türkiye, how it handles Turkish copy and captions, whether video generation carries any extra cost, what length or resolution limits apply, or whether the resulting videos are automatically labeled as AI content. For businesses advertising in Türkiye, the practical route is to check the Advantage+ creative options in their own Ads Manager account and, once the feature shows up, try it with a small test budget. AI-generated ad content should also be reviewed separately against the disclosure expectations of local advertising rules.

UNALSOFT's take

We read this announcement as a production shortcut, not as something that replaces creative strategy. Video generated from a static image gives a fast starting point, but which hook it opens with, which scene it closes on and how it stays consistent with the brand's visual language are still human decisions. Our suggestion is to test the automated video side by side with a video edited specifically for the brand in the same campaign, and decide based on results. On the AI ad films side we treat these as two complementary layers: fast variation and brand-specific editing.
