Google opens Gemini 4 Argon worldwide to developers, enterprises and subscribers
Google first announced Gemini 4 Argon on September 30, 2026 and limited it to trusted cyber defenders in its Fairwind Program; on October 13, 2026 it began rolling the model out globally. Google describes Argon as the first model in the Gemini 4 family. Developers reach it on the Gemini API's paid tier through AI Studio and Android Studio, enterprises through Gemini for business, the API and Google Antigravity, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the Gemini app and in AI Mode in Search. The introductory API price runs until November 30, 2026. By Google's own account, Argon ranks first on the Vals Index and scored 87% on ERQA.
Google Ads puts channels in order: Search partners and the Display Network can now be capped by percentage
On October 14, 2026 Google announced channel prioritization and budget allocation for Google Ads, rolling out progressively from October 15, 2026. Advertisers label channels High or Low priority; when a campaign is limited by budget, the system first funds the high-priority channels in full and passes what is left to the low-priority ones. Low-priority channels can be capped at a percentage of the average daily budget, and choosing 0% means Google will not spend there, although Google treats the cap as best effort. Every channel starts out as High priority, and Demand Gen does not support budget allocation. Search campaigns with the Display Network on and no priorities set move to the new controls automatically in February 2027.
People without a WhatsApp account can now join WhatsApp calls
On October 14, 2026 Meta announced guest calling for WhatsApp. A user with a WhatsApp account generates a call link in the Calls tab; a guest with no account opens it in a computer browser, types a name and waits in a waiting room until the host admits them. Guests cannot see other participants' phone numbers, send messages in the call or add anyone, but they can share their screen, react and raise a hand. One-to-one calls and group calls of up to 32 people, admitted guests included, are supported. Meta says Google Calendar and Outlook integrations are coming later this year, and Social Media Today sees a move to compete with Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
The agenda moves fast, the system stays calm.
