Meta opens its ad system to AI agents
On July 16, 2026, Meta opened its Ads MCP (Model Context Protocol) server, which runs its advertising system, to any developer holding a Meta app. Previously available only inside Meta's own connectors, the infrastructure now lets AI applications create, edit and report on campaigns without writing custom Marketing API integration code.
The ad infrastructure opens to third parties
On July 16, the Meta for Developers team made the Ads MCP server available to every developer with a Meta app. The server was previously reachable only from within Meta's own connectors; now third-party AI applications and internal systems can connect directly to the advertising system. The announcement is credited to Sydney Levitan and Sanjay Patel. The move extends the agentic ad infrastructure Meta began opening on April 29, 2026 with Meta Ads AI Connectors, an MCP server and a command-line tool that expose tools for Claude and ChatGPT.
What the server does, and how it is set up
The Ads MCP server can create, edit and delete campaigns, ad sets and ads; manage custom audiences; and handle catalog operations including product management and product sets. For performance reporting it surfaces metrics such as spend, impressions, click-through rate (CTR) and ROAS with flexible date ranges and demographic breakdowns. It also offers signal diagnostics, help center search integration and the management of A/B tests and conversion lift studies; Meta said it will expand the tool set gradually.
Setup runs through Meta's developer dashboard by selecting the use case "Create and manage ads with ads MCP server." Two authentication methods are offered: OAuth via Facebook Login for Business (automatic token handling) or a pre-obtained access token (manual token lifecycle). Agencies managing data on behalf of others must submit their apps for review and request Advanced Access on the "ads_mcp_management" permission. In one performance test Meta shared, on a 270-ad account an agent found all ads in 2.4 seconds and returned recommendations in under five seconds.
Ad management moves from code to natural language
The real change here is the removal of the technical barrier to starting ad operations. Connecting an AI tool to Meta's ad system used to require custom integration code; that cost now drops to zero, and building a campaign, updating a budget or pulling a report becomes a task you can give in plain language. Snowflake's Will Allen calls marketing "where many enterprises will first see the value of AI agents." As the tool gets easier, the difference shifts from production to management: who runs the system, with which permissions and which strategy, becomes decisive.
What it means for businesses in Türkiye
For small and mid-sized businesses in Türkiye, this development means Meta ads can now be managed in plain language through AI agents. There is no need to commission expensive custom integration code for building campaigns, updating budgets or reporting on performance; businesses and agencies can speed up their ad operations with an MCP server connected to tools like ChatGPT or Claude. But agencies processing data on behalf of others must clear Meta's app review and the Advanced Access permission, which raises the importance of data governance and human oversight alongside automation. In short, the door is open to everyone; the difference will come from using it safely and strategically.
The UNALSOFT take
Our reading is clear: ad management is moving from clicking through a dashboard to giving a task to AI agents. In this environment, value comes not from the tool itself but from a system built with the right permissions, tied to human approval and connected to strategy. That is exactly the approach in our Agentic AI service: we automate a business's advertising, panel and operations workflows with AI agents in a safe way, while keeping human oversight on the critical decisions. Tools change; this layer does not.
Tools change, strategy stays.
