Ads Editor 2.13: AI Max in Shopping, AI disclosure on assets
Version 2.13 of Google Ads Editor has shipped. The desktop tool used for bulk campaign management now fully supports AI Max in Shopping campaigns, adds a user attestation field for image and video assets, and removes the ability to create new Video Action campaigns.
The desktop editor catches up with the web interface
Google Ads Editor is the official desktop application for editing campaigns offline and uploading changes in bulk. Version 2.13, reported on July 24, 2026, closes gaps where the tool had lagged behind the web interface. The headline item is full AI Max support in Shopping campaigns: automated text generation, URL expansion controls, brand lists and URL exclusions can now be managed from the editor. The result is feature parity between Search, Shopping and Performance Max, and less need to switch to the browser.
New fields, new reports, one campaign type retired
The rest of the release runs as follows: support for customer retention goals in Performance Max, meaning optimization toward re-engaging existing customers; Maps placement for Demand Gen campaigns; and business name and business logo fields for responsive and non-skippable video ads. On the measurement and management side there is native channel performance reporting, improved column management, resume support for interrupted downloads, and improvements to bidding strategy management.
The most notable addition on the compliance side is a user attestation field for image and video assets, used to declare AI-generated content. The release also closes a door: creating new Video Action campaigns is officially removed, as that campaign type has moved to Demand Gen.
As automation grows, bulk control matters more
Automation layers such as AI Max reduce the number of campaigns while increasing the number of decisions: which brands go on the list, which URLs are excluded, what text the system may generate. Those settings drive performance directly. Being able to change them in bulk, offline and with a record of what changed is both faster and less error-prone than clicking through the interface one campaign at a time.
The AI attestation field belongs to a separate trend: platforms are asking advertisers to declare rather than trying to interrogate the production tool. In a period when transparency duties around advertising are increasing, putting that declaration inside the tool turns disclosure from a marketing choice into a step in the workflow. The retirement of Video Action campaigns is a reminder of a one-way trend: legacy campaign types close, and broadly targeted, automation-driven types take their place.
What it means for businesses in Türkiye
For agencies and multi-account setups in Türkiye the editor is a practical win: less dependent on a stable connection, able to show every change before it is uploaded, and easier to roll back when an edit goes wrong. In e-commerce accounts with heavy catalogues, managing Shopping settings from the editor visibly shortens repetitive work.
Concrete steps look like this. Update the tool and re-download the account, because the new fields only appear with fresh data. Then review the AI Max settings in your Shopping campaigns, particularly brand lists and URL exclusions, the two controls that decide where automation stops. If you used AI in your video assets, fill in the attestation field; it points the same way as the platform's transparency expectation and as the Turkish rules requiring AI use in advertising to be stated. If you still run Video Action campaigns, plan their Demand Gen equivalent, because the path to creating new ones is closed.
The UNALSOFT take
As automation expands, our job shifts from making settings to drawing boundaries: which brand name is on the list, which page is excluded, what text may be generated. In our ad management work we use bulk tools for exactly that reason, not because they make decisions faster but because they keep a record of the decision. Answering what broke after a change depends on knowing how the change was made.
Automation is open, the boundaries are yours.
Let's go through your Shopping and Performance Max settings together.
