ETİD expects November e-commerce volume to reach 600 billion lira

Hakan Çevikoğlu, head of the Electronic Commerce Operators Association (ETİD), told Anadolu Agency on October 26, 2026 that Türkiye's e-commerce volume could reach 600 billion lira in November. This is the association head's forecast, not an official projection, and it comes with an average basket and order growth estimate.

01 · WHAT HAPPENED?

The association head sees a 600 billion lira month ahead

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, ETİD head Hakan Çevikoğlu said November remains one of the busiest periods for the e-commerce sector. He said the association's assessment is that e-commerce volume could reach the 600 billion lira level in November 2026. It is a forecast. The person giving the number speaks as head of the association; it is not a projection published by an official body.

Çevikoğlu set the forecast against last year's picture. He recalled that e-commerce volume in November 2025 rose 41.5 percent from a year earlier. E-commerce made up 19.3 percent of overall trade on average in 2025 and 22.4 percent in November. He expects a similar level of shopping activity this year.

02 · DETAILS

A 7,000-7,500 lira basket expected, and orders possibly up 10-15 percent

Çevikoğlu expects the average basket in November to land between 7,000 and 7,500 lira. In his view high-ticket categories such as white goods, small appliances, furniture and home products will pull the average up, while apparel, cosmetics, personal care and everyday goods will see smaller but more frequent purchases. He also thinks total orders could rise roughly 10-15 percent against the same month last year. In November 2025 the number of products and services sold had grown 11.6 percent.

Four dates stand out in the campaign calendar: November 11 Singles' Day (11.11), November 24 Teachers' Day, November 27 Black Friday and November 30 Cyber Monday. Çevikoğlu adds that discounts have in recent years stopped being tied to particular days and now stretch across the whole month. Platforms, he says, will compete not only on product discounts but with extra basket discounts, coupons, bank partnerships, instalments, free shipping, fast delivery and loyalty program perks. He expects the strongest activity in apparel, footwear and accessories, electronics, white goods and small appliances, cosmetics and personal care, and home and living.

03 · WHY IT MATTERS

November planning has to spread across the month, not one day

Volume and basket expectations are one of the reference points sellers check when setting ad budgets, stock and campaign calendars. What matters here is less the size of the number than its shape: Çevikoğlu expects both basket value and order count to grow, and says shopping will not squeeze into a single day. Shoppers can compare offers and buy more than once during the month.

He also thinks purchases postponed or planned earlier in the year could shift into November, and that the momentum will carry into December to help the sector close the year strongly. November is thus presented not only as a peak but as a source of momentum for the final quarter. The forecast rests on a single source, an association head's statement to AA, and this article cites no independent second confirmation.

04 · TÜRKİYE

Every figure is about the Turkish market, but the method is unclear

All the data in the report concerns Türkiye's e-commerce market, and AA's report carries an Istanbul dateline. The text does not say which model or data source the forecast rests on, nor does it give November 2025 volume in lira. It also does not say whether the volume is adjusted for inflation. That leaves no basis in the text for comparing 600 billion lira with last year directly in lira terms. The rest of this section is commentary by UNALSOFT, not fact.

Our reading is that basket and order expectations indicate direction for a monthly plan but should not be the only basis for a target. Your own store's data from last November is a sharper reference than an association forecast. For the overall size of Turkish e-commerce, see our September 15 article.

The UNALSOFT view

The practical takeaway is to build the campaign calendar around the whole month rather than one day. If discounts spread out, stock, shipping and payment flows must hold up from 11.11 through November 30. Being able to run mechanics such as basket discounts, coupons, instalments and loyalty perks from one panel matters for that reason. On the e-commerce panel side we prioritise keeping orders, stock and campaigns visible in one place. This is UNALSOFT's interpretation, not part of the source text.
